KeKe Cribbs was born in Colorado in 1951. She lived in Ireland, France, Corsica and New Mexico before making her home on Whidbey Island after attending Pilchuck Glass School in 1984. She has since taught at Pilchuck Glass School and the Penland School of Crafts, and in 1986 she started a Glass program at the Swain School of Design which later became SMU in South Dartmouth, MA. She has also taught workshops at TIGA in Toyama, Japan, and was invited to participate in the Stourbridge Glass Festival in 2019.

KeKe is a glass artist known for reverse painting vitreous enamels on glass and glass mosaics; she uses other complimentary materials including ceramics, metal and fibers in her mixed media artworks which may be two or three dimensional. Some of the sculptures include a series of glass mosaic Boats with glass sails, and also standing figures. The wall pieces are often narrative with mythical and fairytale like images, but some of the newer work has a more abstracted, meditative and mandala like quality as she explores the relationship of light reflection within a given space.

Her work had been collected internationally and includes the Sheldon and Myrna Paley Glass Pavilion, Lowe Museum, Miami, FL, the Corning Glass Museum, NY, the L.A. County Museum, CA, the Racine Art Museum, WI, the Mint Museum, Charlotte, NC, and the Tacoma Art Museum and Tacoma Glass Museum, WA., the L.A. County Museum, CA, the Racine Art Museum, WI, and the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, Japan.
