Mike Biskup is a contemporary watercolor painter of imaginary landscapes and abstractions living and working in Port Townsend, WA. Born in 1970 in Los Angeles, Mike comes from a family historically rich in artists, poets, and dreamers. As early as he can remember, he was voraciously drawing ultra-fast cars, far-out cityscapes, resplendent robots and peculiar people with his two older brothers, Tim and Steve. In 1993, he completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at The University of California at Santa Cruz. A rich stream of Zen inspiration was flowing on that mountain at that time and soon after graduating, Mike spent a week with Buddhist Teacher Thich Nhat Hanh, whose ideas have inspired his life and work ever since. His paintings have been the subject of many solo and group exhibitions and can be found in the collection of Oscar-winning actress Patricia Arquette, as well as many others around the globe. You can also find his work in several galleries in Port Townsend, at The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, and online via SaatchiArt.com and at MikeBiskup.com.
