Secluded Forest Hideaway

This idyllic cottage on a private road is a few steps away from a trail into the Grand Forest yet the ferry terminal is less than ten minutes away. It is surrounded by majestic cedars and next to a quietly babbling brook on protected wetlands. The main house is further down the driveway.

The space

Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature in spectacular surroundings. During the day there are many birds to watch or listen to. Owls may hoot at night and sometimes you can hear coyotes howl. It’s a perfect setting for a romantic getaway or for a restorative break from a hectic life to reflect and meditate.

Downstairs there’s a bedroom and hallway area with a washer, dryer, iron, and ironing board. Upstairs there’s a skylit bathroom, several closets along a short hallway, and a living/dining room area with a sofa bed, a dining area, an easy chair and a kitchenette.

Coffee and teas are available, as well as some condiments and staples. There’s a full-size refrigerator/freezer for guest use, a stove/oven, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee machine.

There’s a small library of books, as well as an assortment of jigsaw puzzles and games.
Guest access

Guests will have access to the whole cottage apart from the garage, as well as a little patio next to the cottage. There is ample parking right next to the cottage or above the cottage on a parking strip and two bicycles are available on request.

The cottage and the main house are on five acres of protected wetlands with several trails and a pond beyond the main house. At most times, guests are welcome to walk on the trails and sit by the pond.
Interaction with guests

Guests have the option of complete privacy but I’m usually available and eager to help make their stay as pleasant and stress-free as possible.

Private yoga classes may be scheduled ahead of time (I’m a Yoga Alliance-registered yoga instructor).
