A Bloedel Islandwood Collaborative Event: Explore the World of Ants with Dr. Peter Marting

Dr. Peter Marting will host a multifaceted event using macro footage, an art piece, and the living organisms (ants on display)

Dr. Marting's presentation will involve results from his scientific research, engaging macro footage, and an artistic expression of research results.  Marting, as the Creative Resident at Bloedel, has been focusing on the behavior of ant colonies on the Reserve. His research is related to collective food and materials transport and nesting behaviors. Using video footage, tracking software, and tally meters and then analyzing the data and uncovering correlations and patterns, he is designing an engaging presentation and art piece to create an enchanting experience that will connects the audience to nature in an emotional and informative way.
