Part three in the Bainbridge Public Library’s 2023 Great Decisions foreign affairs discussion series.
Library U's 2023 foreign affairs discussion series, GREAT DECISIONS AT THE LIBRARY, continues on Sunday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at the Bainbridge Public Library with a program on the history, language, and culture of Ukraine by Laada Bilaniuk, U.W. professor of linguistic anthropology and an expert on language, identity, and politics in Ukraine and throughout the post-Soviet world. She will discuss the history of Ukraine's relationship with Russia that is particularly relevant to understanding the current situation, especially the dynamics of language and how they relate to Ukrainian sovereignty. She will also talk about the cultural/creative responses of Ukrainians to the war.
