FEATURED ARTIST – ZYDECO LOW DOWN
Zydeco Low Down plays Louisiana Zydeco dance music with Mark Myking on vocals/accordion, Tina Tanaka on rubberboard/vocals, and a great group of musicians laying down a rock-solid Zydeco groove.
Mark first experienced cajun Zydeco music while shipping out of the Gulf Coast as a merchant mariner. He fell in love with he music of Clifton Chenier, Boozoo Chavis, Beau Jacque and other Zydeco greats. He’s made many trips down to Louisiana to listen to and jam with Louisiana musicians. Mark and Tina have been playing Zydeco music around the northwest at venues like Hiway 99 Blues Club, Ilani Casino, Eagles and Various festivals and private parties over the last six years. Tina was with the venerable “Zydeco Locals” for many years singing and playing rubboard.

View moreBIMA is located in the Island Gateway complex which has accessible parking spaces on Ravine Lane. There is a flat surface entering the courtyard, which leads into the museum. Parking is also available in the underground garage. Take the elevator to First Floor Rear (1R) during museum hours for access through the Community Gallery to the Auditorium, Bistro and Museum.
All of the Museum is accessible by ramps and elevators. If someone in your party needs a wheelchair to enjoy the museum, please ask to borrow a loaner one at the reception desk.
