A few years ago Mike began to photograph golf courses. He’s been a passionate golfer his entire life, and shooting golf courses combines his love of golf and his love of landscape photography in a perfect way for him. Of all the artistic media, he believes that architecture, including landscape architecture (which to him includes golf course design) is the one that most directly touches our daily lives.

His role is to appreciate and elucidate that architecture. He feels very fortunate to have found a trade about which he cares passionately. The changes in photography since he began are mind boggling, but he believes that the creative possibilities are greater now than ever before.

His favorite quotation about photography is by Cartier-Bresson and expresses pretty well my feelings about the art and craft of picture making: “to take photographs is to find the structure of the world – to revel in the pure pleasure of form, to disclose that in all this chaos there is order”.
