As the daughter of a geology professor and high school biology teacher, Wendy grew up learning that nature was both explainable and full of magic. She was encouraged to look closely at the natural world and to be curious about what might be under the surface of what she saw.

In 1996, Wendy moved to the Pacific Northwest and began making tonal monotypes inspired by the subtle and evocative light of the region. Her intent is to reduce the landscape to essentials, evoking an emotional space that invites you inside while retaining a painterly physicality and surface tension.

Wendy was born in New York and grew up in New Haven, Connecticut. She received a BA in Fine Arts from Yale University and an MFA in Painting from American University. Her monotypes have been exhibited at the Tacoma Art Museum, the Museum of Northwest Art, the Bellevue Art Museum and the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. Wendy's monotype are featured in the book Singular & Serial: Contemporary Monotype and Monoprint. She is represented by Davidson Galleries Seattle, Washington.

Wendy has taught at Pratt Fine Arts Center, The Henry Art Gallery, University of Indiana and numerous other venues. Currently, she teaches monotype workshops for beginning and experienced artists out of her studio on Bainbridge Island, WA.
