JULY 14 Paper mask making class

PREPARATION.

Collect Materials:
Ruler, pencil, tagboard, scissors, hot glue gun, hot glue sticks and a hard surface to work on

·       Look at photos of museum pieces that highlight the spirits of wolves, bears, owls, otters, beavers, ravens and thunderbirds.
·       Find templates of eye orbs and eye brow photos taken superimposed upon 8.5 x11 inch white paper
·       And make 2 eye orbs and 2 eye brows out of the colored paper you wish to use.
·       Have enough paper to complete all other templates for your animal mask
Note: most mask makers will use less than 2 pieces of 22”x28” construction paper or tagboard sold at stores… if you want more colors you might want more than two pieces but with the Owl mask templates one 22×28 fit and provided all the templates the wolf with many more templates might require more paper)

2nd class agenda

1.     We sing our grand entry song together
2.     participants will have tools and templates ready to create the eyes and eyebrows of an animal they are ready to construct out of tagboard and hot glue together live online.
3.     As a class we will discuss all of the techniques we might implement tocontinue to make more templates that will allow us to complete snouts, ears, cheaks, beaks, nostrils, lips and hair out of our paper.
4.     We will continue to work together deciding upon the shapes we will need to complete our animal masks until our time is up.

5.     Some participants may have to complete their mask as homework between July 14 and 21
