JULY 21 Paper Mask Making Class

PREPARATION.

2nd class wrap up and Homework:

1.     Participants should attempt to complete their mask as homework between July 14 and 21

All of the participants should cut out a full set of templates using the large patterns I have sent in photos. If you want a specific color ear, for example, use that color paper for that shape template.
In order to assure each template is the proper size look at the yellow ruler in the photo to keep the template at the scale/size that will fit the other templates.
Dotted lines indicate the template needs to be scored along that line… they will also need to be glued onto the head two tabs at a time in order to insure they have enough 3 dimensional shape.
Participants can glue together all of the templates or most templates before July 21.

Bear – use mouse/Mink ear templates but MUCH smaller- also you may design your own nostrils
A teddy bear style mask design could utilize the head from the owl templates.
Mountain Lion – use the Owl Ears and a more cleft upper lip
Mouse – Use the Mink templates but enlarge the ears a little
Rabbit – Use the Mink templates but design your own long ears, use a cleft upper lip and add extra front teeth if you wish.
Owl –

3rd Class agenda-

1.     We will complete our masks together and share what are the superpowers, movements and songs of the animals we choose.
2.     I will complete the traditional Kwakwaka’wakw Echo story that I began to tell on the first online session.
