Introducing a new video series, Artist’s Books Unshelved

Presented by Bainbridge Island Museum of Art at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art

This first episode, Crossroads and Currents, features work by artists Tyler Starr and Tia Blassingame that bring to light historical atrocities and explore issues of racial injustice.
New videos will premiere on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month at 11am on our YouTube and Facebook pages.
But what is an artist’s book?
BIMA defines an artist’s book as a three-dimensional art object—usually one-of-a-kind or in limited edition—which tells its story over time. Participation by the viewer is required to explore its form and materials, artistic expression, and/or narrative content.

Artist’s books combine various art forms and media, including drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, gluing and binding, sculpture, photography, textiles, creative writing, and storytelling.
