Kyle Morton of Typhoon

Presented by The Matt Tirman Exploratory Committee at Hazel Creek Montessori School

On Saturday, August 24 Kyle Morton, lead singer and guitarist of the band Typhoon, presents a benefit concert to celebrate and support Housing Resources Bainbridge. The concert will take place at Hazel Creek, 8903 NE Koura Rd., Bainbridge Island, Washington and begins at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at: Typhoon.brownpapertickets.com. Tickets are discounted for children ages 12-17 and are free for ages 11 and under.

Audience members will experience the elaborate compositions of Typhoon and spare solo work of Kyle Morton, adapted to the elegant form of a power trio. Alex Fitch, long-time drummer of Typhoon, and Max Stein on the bass join Morton for an intimate concert in a lovely Bainbridge Island setting. Malagueña Events is thrilled to host such an accomplished musical group that appeals to both young and old.

Typhoon is an eleven-member American indie rock band from Salem, Oregon. The band's latest album Offerings was released on January 12, 2018. They are signed to the indie record label Roll Call Records. To learn more about Typhoongo to: WeAreTyphoon.com.

All net proceeds from the concert will be donated to Housing Resources Bainbridge, whose mission is to preserve the diversity and vitality of Bainbridge Island by providing and maintaining affordable housing opportunities in the community.

Erin Phillips of Malagueña Events shared, “Support for affordable housing is especially crucial right now as one of the few affordable housing units at 550 Madison might be sold to a commercial developer. Housing Resources Bainbridge has submitted an offer for the property, but it is less than other offers and the owner, Kitsap Housing, wants to sell to the highest bidder. This benefit concert will bring visibility about this important issue to people, who might not already be aware of it.”

Matthew Tirman, deputy mayor of Bainbridge Island stated, “Housing Resources Bainbridge is a vital part of our community. They need our support through this challenge so they can continue to provide affordable housing opportunities in our community. This benefit concert provides an opportunity for our community to come together, enjoying a night of beautiful music at the same time as we help protect affordable housing on Bainbridge Island. I encourage everyone who is able, to purchase tickets to this event.”
