Classical Japanese Dance Open-Level Classes Spring 2024

Classical Japanese Dance Open-Level Classes Spring 2024

Presented by Japanese Dance LLC at Bainbridge Dance Center

Kaya Yamazaki, master artist of the Japanese Nihon Buyo tradition, offers in-person Classical Japanese Dance classes on Bainbridge Island, WA. These are open-level classes, which means they are suitable for anyone from a complete beginner to advanced. Modifications are suggested to make movements easier or more challenging for each student.

You may wear any clothing you feel comfortable in. Bring a pair of socks for sliding feet exercises. If you have a yukata or kimono and want to wear it for class, you are welcome to do so. Yukata and obi are provided for no additional cost if you want to experience wearing them.

Classes are held every Sunday 11am - 12:30pm from January 14th through June 16th, EXCEPT February 18th, March 31st, April 14th, and May 26th, for the spring 2024.

We are currently recruiting performers for upcoming cultural events. No prior experience is necessary to participate.
