Presented by Bainbridge Island Museum of Art at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art

BIMA's smARTfilms Series: Music on Film presents "Stop Making Sense" (1984)

“Why stop making sense? Why a movie? Why a big suit? Where do the odd movements come from? What will the band do next?”… questions that may or may not be answered in this epic concert film. Widely regarded as one of the finest examples of the genre, Stop Making Sense features a live performance by Talking Heads. David Byrne’s performance evolves from a solo on an empty stage alongside a boombox to a full-blown production featuring pounding beats and spectacular visuals.

Described as "one of the greatest rock movies ever made," "the finest concert film," and "close to perfection."
