Korby Lenker

at Unknown

There's nothing better than listening to quality music in a friend's living room! Thanks to John and Dee Eisenhauer, Korby Lenker will perform on the Island this Friday at their lovely waterfront home. Below are all of the details.

Korby has just finished an album produced by Tim O'Brien. He'll share all of his music with you. He's a brilliant songwriter and a lovely singer, visiting us from Nashville. He's not country, nor bluegrass, though. He's more American folk and Americana.    Check out his music and hope to see you there.

KORBY LENKER BIO

Idaho-born, longtime East Nashville resident Korby Lenker can’t seem to sit still. Multi award-winning songwriter, published author, heavy touring performer, and now creator of new onscreen scripted dramedy Morse Code, there seems to be no limit to his quirky, passionate path of self-invention.

Freshly returned from a summer Montana sabbatical (where horse riding and banjo picking were the daily routine), Korby is recharged and ready for his boldest adventure yet in music words and film. He’s currently developing future episodes of Morse Code while recording a new batch of songs and maintaining a regular tour schedule.September 2019 saw performances at Americanafest and the Red River Folk Festival (sharing the stage with the likes of James McMurtry, Dave Alvin, and Esme Patterson) with new shows announced all the time.

Korby not only makes a lot of stuff, but he makes stuff his fans love. More than 250 Patreon subscribers enjoy early and often exclusive access to his almost weekly songs, videos, short stories, and webisodes.

His live shows — the real backbone of a career now late in its second decade —  swing between a whisper and a shout, prompting tastemaker roots mag No Depression to note "One of the most striking things about seeing Lenker perform is his relationship with his guitar. He doesn't just play it, he becomes it —  or, maybe, it becomes a part of him.”

Even his approach to making records is unorthodox. Lenker recorded his latest batch of songs in his native Idaho, in various places important to him as a child - the Snake River Canyon, Craters of the Moon National Monument, even his father’s mortuary. Letting the natural landscape set the tone, he recorded over two months of steady travel. The result, Thousand Springs, earned, among other accolades, a 4 star review from MOJO Magazine, who dubbed his effort “Scintillating songwriting from a travellin’ man.”
