Two Bainbridge Island jazz bands, the Cuban Heels and Ranger and the Rearrangers are performing December 6th at WEAVE Presents (Rolling Bay Hall) to help raise money to send Bainbridge High School student musicians to Cuba over spring break 2020. High school students will be sitting in during the show, providing an opportunity for our talented local students to perform in public with excellent local bands.

The Bainbridge High School Band Boosters is sponsoring this educational trip to Cuba for high school music students interested in jazz. The trip is scheduled for April 4-12, 2020. The students will explore the roots of Cuban music, art and culture. They will get a chance to participate in music classes; rehearsals; as well as private and public concerts with Cuban musicians. The journey begins in historic Santa Clara, and continues to the colonial towns of Cienfuegos and Trinidad before arriving in Havana for a 5-day musical and cultural exchange.
