Bainbridge Island Art Walk

Presented by Realogics Sotheby's International Realty at Realogics Sotheby's International Realty

Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty is pleased to host a series of rotating artists for the monthly Bainbridge Island Art Walk at the “Island Living Gallery”. This month, we are proud to present featured artist Len Eisenhood, live music from ¡WEPA!, and beautiful scarves by Carlo Scanagatta.

Featured Artist : Len Eisenhood
Len's relationship with marbling began more than 20 years ago when he was accepted into the UW Scientific Illustration program. He became eager to seek out botanicals, both painted and sketched, from previous eras. He scoured rare book shops and discovered a cache of botanicals from the 17th and 18th centuries. Realizing most had marbled end papers, it was only a matter of time before Len learned the classical art. He spent the following years gaining mastery of it.

Two years ago Len took a workshop with the Portland marbler and painter Liz Walker. In this experience, he recognized that a visual narrative could emerge from his marbled papers with the addition of acrylic painting and collage.

Now Len’s quest as a contemporary artist is to use this fusion to reveal the beauties and mystery of his life’s journey. Discover Len’s creations at The Island Gallery.

Malo Castro, founder of ¡WEPA!, has twice been voted Best Percussionist at the Kitsap County Music Awards, and has added his Latin clave and spice to music ensembles throughout the Northwest over 30 years as he's made a name for himself as a professional musician in the region. Castro first arrived in Kitsap County from Puerto Rico in 1973 after volunteering for three years in the Navy. Castro's musical flexibility has led him to play in diverse musical settings ranging from rock, to jazz, to Latin and Brazilian music.
