This piece embodies sculptor Timm Duffy’s love of mysticism. Stargazer’s fluid and raw lines demonstrate its impermanent physical nature. Viewers get the sense that this small figure sees something they forgot to pay attention to. The feeling of movement, change, and possibility combine to create a sense of unexpected magic. “The sculpture is based on a neighbor of mine back in Boulder, CO,” says Duffy. “He would go out and look at the stars as they came out every night in the summer.” Stargazer is cast in bronze with a patina finish.
