This award winning film is the original version of “A Star is Born” and features Janet Gaynor and Fredric March in the leads as Esther Blodgett and Norman Maine respectively. Both the screenplay and the coloration for the film received recognition at the 10th Academy Awards in 1938. It is also the first color film to receive a nomination in the Best Picture category, which was called “Outstanding Production” at the time. Three other remakes of this film have been produced for theatrical release with the most recent being the 2018 version featuring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

ABOUT CHRISTOPHER CERICOLA. Christopher is the General Manager of Bainbridge Island’s Lynwood Theatre where he performs projectionist duties including gathering movie data/encrypted keys, building movie playlists, and creating triggers to automate showings. His interests are in algorithms and mathematical logic. He has experience in languages such as R, Python, Java, MATLAB, and LaTeX. Recently he co-authored a paper which utilized theoretical mathematics to improve solutions to real world data analysis problems.
