The featured image is Madhubani Art. This is a style of Indian painting, distinguished by its geometric designs. It’s made with natural dyes, and uses tools such as fingers, nib pens, and brushes. This art form can be found in North East India. (North of the Himalayas)

Madhubani Art is over 2,500 years old. It was practiced by mostly women on walls and homes during festivals. King Janaka brought this form to life when he asked an artist to paint his daughter, Sita during her wedding with Prince Rama.

The characters mentioned all belong to popular stories told in India.

Since they used this art to decorate, it was often very bright and colorful.
