Bainbridge violinist Peggy Brady needed some inspiration to keep her practicing during the pandemic. When she saw on Instagram that Hillary Hahn was posting 30-second videos of her daily practice with the goal of doing it for 100 consecutive days, Brady decided to follow suit.

“Many of us musicians are in the doldrums now with all performances cancelled because of COVID,” says Brady, who pre-COVID played locally with Olympic Serenade. “Practicing the violin alone in your practice room can be very isolating. When I brought up the idea to my friends, they loved it.”

Now Brady and other musicians she knows are playing every day aiming for 100 consecutive days of practice. Her brother, Allan Brighton, who lives in Germany, also joined the group.

Recently the siblings teamed up to play “La Varenne” and captured the lively tune in a home video which they shared with Currents.
