Olivia Opalski has been involved with theatre since she was four years old. Over the years, Oliva has
enjoyed singing, acting on stage and dancing, while recently becoming more involved in performing on-
camera.
Olivia’s passion for the arts has been on display at Bainbridge Performing Arts for years. She also has
performed on Bainbridge Island with Lesser Known Players and Baker’s Dozen. Auditions in Seattle led
to professional representation. Among her theatre roles, she is most proud of her roles as Bruce in
Matilda the Musical, Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods, Jr. and Gloria in Madagascar Jr. Olivia’s
vocal specialty is belting high and low notes within her range. In the future, Olivia hopes to begin a
professional career in acting on camera and on stage, as well as to continue her vocal training.
Bainbridge Island Singing Academy’s Shannon Dowling, who has been professionally training Olivia for
six years, says “I’m thrilled at Olivia’s acceptance by audition into Kristin Chenoweth’s Broadway
Bootcamp to learn from Broadway faculty next month, a testament to her talent, hard work
and dedication over the years.”

ABOUT SHANNON DOWLING. Shannon is the owner/instructor at BISA Vocal Studio, teaching on
Bainbridge Island since 2011.  Her studio is student-led, meaning that students choose their area of
focus, whether it be vocal placement, performance, audition preparation, ear training, sight singing,
harmonization training, reading/writing musical notation, composition, or a combination of disciplines,
using her varied experience to create a goals based approach for maximum benefit to her students.  In
addition to her studio, she is a working musician, actor, producer, director, music director, & teaching
artist, performing with multiple bands (jazz, latin, Brazilian, rock, and blues), musical theatre, opera, plays,
