Coming this September, the inaugural Bainbridge Island Film Festival will be a 4-day celebration of contemporary films and filmmakers across multiple venues on Bainbridge Island. Sponsored in part by AHB, the 2023 Bainbridge Film Festival will bring together the communities of Bainbridge Island and Kitsap County in celebrating films and filmmakers from both around the corner and around the world.

With screenings at the historic Lynwood Theatre, Bainbridge Cinemas, and the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, BIFF will include an eclectic programming of films, panels, and events representing diverse stories and filmmakers. In addition to screening the latest in independent cinema from around the country and beyond, BIFF will also showcase features and shorts from Kitsap county-based filmmakers, and films shot on and around Bainbridge Island, including a program of short films made by Kitsap based filmmakers 18 and under.

Submissions are now underway, and open until June 30th.

The Bainbridge Island Film Festival is founded by Charles Poekel, a Bainbridge-based filmmaker and professor of film at Cornish College of the Arts, and is sponsored in part by Arts and Humanities Bainbridge.
