Garth Stein, author of the novel on which the new film of the same name, “The Art of Racing in the Rain,” is based upon, will visit Bainbridge Cinemas for a book signing and special early film screening on Wednesday, Aug. 14.

He will also conduct a Q&A after the movie.

Admission is $25 per person, which includes popcorn, drinks and a donation to the library.

Stein, a parttime Bainbridge resident, was born in Los Angeles but grew up in Seattle. After spending 18 years in New York City, he returned to the Seattle area with his wife, sons, and the family dog, a lab/poodle mix.
