“Plays as funny and moving, as wonderful and weird as ‘The Realistic Joneses’ by Will Eno do not appear often on Broadway.

“Or ever, really.”

So said The New York Times. And that wonderful, weird play will be read, courtesy of Island Theatre, at the Bainbridge Public Library at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8.

Admission is free, though donations are appreciated.

In “The Realistic Joneses,” audiences meet Bob and Jennifer and John and Pony, new neighbors with identical homes and the same last name. As the couples interact — in a series of short, often hilarious vignettes — they find they have even more in common than at first appeared.
