Many thanks to all of you who have visited Currents. Please join us in wishing this wonderful cultural platform a Happy Birthday as it turns two years old. Arts & Humanities Bainbridge has strived to make Currents the go-to-site for exploring and experiencing the creativity on Bainbridge Island.
Our goal is to support ALL the arts and cultural organizations on the island and get the word out about their activities through Currents and it’s calendar. We want our calendar to be where you go to find out what’s happening and make your weekend plans, whether you live here or are visiting. We want our stories to introduce you to all kinds of artists and cultural trends on Bainbridge Island ranging from art and sculpture, photography, and theater to lectures, writing, poetry and craft. We showcase the island’s public art and show you where to go to enjoy it in person.
Our Poetry Vibes, located on our arts education sub-site, brings you the voices of young writers, and our Talent Showcase presents videos of our children, singing, dancing and performing. Marketplace provides a place for artists to display and sell their creations. You will get to know more about the creatives on Bainbridge by going to the artist profiles and get an in-depth look at the creative process by visiting the feature In the Studio.
This week we launched a redesign presenting a fresh new look for Currents on its second anniversary. We’d love your feedback. What else would you like to see on Currents to help AHB support the creative community and help all of us experience it? Please contact editor@bainbridgecurrents.com or admin@ahbainbridge.org.

I'm grateful that CURRENTS continues its online version. During the pandemic, both the Bainbridge Review and Bainbridge Islander discontinued their section for calendar listings. But now that folks are beginning to gather in person again, we need the chance to publicize activities that are open to the public. I have helped to run poetry readings and acoustic music open mics for years, and I hope to submit some calendar listings for Currents soon!
Also, one friendly reminder: PLEASE have someone proofread your outgoing message before you make it live. I cringed to see "Currents is celebrating it's second anniversary with a new look."
It's = it is. That is the only possible meaning. The possessive form of its has no apostrophe :)
All the best,
