We’ve read the headlines and seen the images: ‘South Africa is burning!’ ‘Free Nelson Mandela!’ But what about those who lived through those experiences. Was life pure terror, bittersweet or hopeful? How did apartheid influence people’s hearts and minds? Did the country’s arc bend toward justice?
