If you were one of those Quinn Liebling fan/followers who thought everything sucked after they cancelled “Everything Sucks!,” take heart.
The Bainbridge Island-based actor has a film hitting the big screen this weekend. The teen romance “Thunderbolt In Mine Eye,” shot in Portland, screens Jan. 24 and 27 at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
“Thunderbolt In Mine Eye” is the project Liebling jumped into following the cancellation of the Netflix series “Everything Sucks!” after only one intriguing season. Zachary Ray Sherman, the film’s co-director, was also in the cast of the series, which was shot near Portland in Boring, Ore. Sherman’s sister, Sarah Sherman, wrote the screenplay and is the other co-director of “Thunderbolt.”
Liebling plays Harper, who unexpectedly falls in love with her across-the-street neighbor and his big brother’s best friend, as Harper begins high school. Tilly, a year older than Harper, is played by Anjini Taneja Azhar — who also lists “Everything Sucks!” on her resume.
