Artist Grant recipient:
“I first encountered Arts & Humanities Bainbridge in 2021, when I learned that AHB offered a grant for individual artists. When I applied and received this grant both for 2021 and 2022, I was overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. Having begun my creative career at age 51, the recognition from this award gave a tremendous boost to my artistic confidence. I felt very seen and valued as an artist within my community.”
The Creative District:
“Arts & Humanities connects in partnership with other local non-profit organizations like Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Bainbridge Performing Arts, and Bainbridge Arts & Crafts? Stronger together, we collaborate in organizing robust community events and are proud to say we were able to procure the designation of a Certified Creative Arts District by the State of Washington which further helps identify Bainbridge as a place whose residents value and support the arts and from which all our collaborative partner organizations benefit.”
“Creativity not only connects us but also fosters understanding, appreciation, knowledge, and curiosity? These core values drive the Arts & Humanities Bainbridge public art program. Our program includes a rotating sculpture exhibit in Winslow as well as private / public partnerships where we facilitate the inclusion of public art in commercial and residential developments.”
