Bainbridge Island Historical Museum exhibit: Protest

Bainbridge Island has a robust legacy of protest in all its shapes and guises. What does protest
look like on the Island?

For some, it’s the act of signing a petition. Or writing an Op-Ed essay or letter to an elected
official. For others, protest takes the form of a yard sign, a pamphlet, a lapel pin, or a choice of
clothing. There are solitary vigils, letter-writing campaigns, and large demonstrations.
From human rights to environmental issues, Bainbridge Islanders have regularly voiced their
opinion in order to enact change on a local, national, and international scale.

Join us this fall for our eye-opening new exhibit, Protest. Hear directly from Bainbridge Island
residents about important issues and ways they protest. Make your own protest sign. And
before you go, be sure to share your protest story.

The Bainbridge Island Historical Museum is currently open Fri-Sun 10am-4pm and is free to the
public. For more information and resources, head to their website.
