BI Reads for Justice community conversation: “Let’s Practice Talking about Race”

BI Reasd for Justice golden seal

Join BI Reads for Justice in practicing a Living Room Conversation about race in relation to the book STAMPED: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi. (Psst…you do not have to have read the book to join the conversation!)

The book STAMPED opens: “To know the past is to know the present. To know the present is to know yourself.” We will break into small groups to discuss this idea and others, using the Living Room Conversations guided discussion model, which practices communicating across differences while building understanding. This is not a debate; rather, participants speak from their own experience and listen with curiosity and openness to others.

Learn more about the discussion model at LivingRoomConversations.org. Get your copy of STAMPED at Eagle Harbor Books, Bainbridge Library, or the Senior Center.

ADMISSION INFO

Due to space limitations for small group discussions, this event is capped at 50 participants. Registration is required.
