BYS Offers Coaching for Pandemic Parenting

The speed with which life has changed over the last month is staggering. Imagine what this is like for a parent of a teen coping with the current health crisis and no guidebook for how to cope with our new “social distancing” reality. The coronavirus pandemic has created an overwhelming sense of chaos in our lives. Many parents and guardians are feeling haggard from lack of quiet time, busy with meals and the shifting landscape of their children’s schoolwork, not to mention finding the space to focus on their own work requirements.

But parenting in a pandemic just got a little easier thanks to donors like you. BYS is now offering free parent coaching through secure video conferencing. Parents and guardians can call 206-842-9675 or email: info@bainbridgeyouthservices to set up an initial appointment with a professional BYS mental health counselor, and up to six to seven more weekly sessions. Appointments will be individualized to your particular needs.

Each week different parenting tools will be offered to enrich family connections now and for the road ahead. Space is limited and appointments are available Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“It’s a stressful situation and often family relationships suffer at a time when family support is most desired,” said BYS Executive Director Cezanne Allen. “Our aim is to strengthen  those relationships through this program.”
