Let’s Talk About Racism: Using a growth mindset to engage in conversation

Join Raising Resilience’s guest speakers, Karen Vargas & Chasity Malatesta with
BISD’s Multicultural Advisory Council (MAC) and
Spencer Bispham & Sarah Bukair with
Youth Social Justice League

For the final Connections Cafe before summer, get empowered with tools to discuss racism and progress cultural competency in our families and in our community.

Understand the local context with a brief overview of the Island’s history, learn about the impact of social media on the conversation about racism, and how they are targeting vulnerable youth. Find out how to overcome the paralysis that can set in for fear of saying the wrong thing, and how we can contribute to de-escalating racism. You will also get a list of resources provided by our partners from MAC.
