Learn the coptic bookbinding method and create your own journal or sketch book from start to finish. Coptic binding is a great way to produce a lay-flat book with a hard cover and exposed spine. Instruction will include exploration of paper thickness and grain, signatures and folding, hardcover assembly, and hand stitching. Students will learn the slow and meditative process involved in building a book by hand the deep creativity that is cultivated along the way.
