Silk & Soul is a musical tribute to the iconic, incomparable Nina Simone combined with selections from Jones’ highly praised original recordings.

Experience musically the reality that silk is stronger than steel and can be flexible without breaking. Silk & Soul is a musical tribute to the iconic, incomparable Nina Simone combined with selections from Jones’ highly praised original recordings. The concert also features the musical artistry of Josh Rawlings on piano, Dean Schmidt on bass, and Steven Bentley on drums.
Singer, songwriter, producer, & legacy activist Eugenie Jones continues to grow and evolve in the eleven years since entering the Seattle jazz scene. From multiple Earshot Jazz awards to recent international recording accomplishments, Jones' creativity, inspiration, and tireless work ethic have transformed her into a vocalist and songwriter of impeccable taste, with respect for the jazz tradition and the skill and ingenuity to record more than 32 original songs.
