Irish Play Series: Dancing at Lughnasa

A rehearsed and fully staged reading performed by an all-star local cast and directed by Tony nominee Wilson Milam.

A rehearsed and fully staged reading of Brian Friel's 1990 play Dancing at Lughnasa. Performed by an all-star local cast and directed by Tony nominee Wilson Milam.

This month has been different. The five Mundy sisters acquired a wireless radio, and dance music now fills the kitchen when the battery works. Jack, eldest Mundy brother and local hero, arrived back home after working abroad for 25 years. Gerry, the wayward father of the youngest sister's illegitimate son, turned up unannounced on the doorstep. And all of Ballybeg is in the grip of the upcoming Lughnasa festival. The household is under threat. Beliefs are challenged. Secrets blurted out. Loyalties fractured.

Change seems inevitable for the Mundys.
