Island Theatre presents "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea" by John Patrick Shanley

Island Theatre presents a dramatic staged reading of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea by John Patrick Shanley at the Bainbridge Public Library on Saturday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 26 at 3:00 p.m. Admission is with a $5 minimum donation.

Danny is a trucker who people call The Beast. Roberta is a troubled young mother with a teenage son whom her parents now raise. After a hesitant, defensive initial meeting in a bar, they butt heads and egos before discovering through each other that there is a space for love in their lives.

Playwright John Patrick Shanley won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay for Moonstruck and both the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Doubt: A Parable. The Island Theatre production is directed by Fred Saas and features Alyssa Hersey and Todd Baylor. It is recommended for high school age and up.
