Join us for a panel featuring Mark Hoffman, Jim Basnight, and Steve Franz exploring all things blues
Panelists Steve Franz, Mark Hoffman and Jim Basnight have each traveled the world researching, filming documentaries, writing books, conducting interviews, producing radio programs, and putting their hearts and souls into preserving and sharing blues music. Each panelist will share stories and talk about one of the most important art forms in American history.
ABOUT MARK HOFFMAN
Mark Hoffman has written for Living Blues, Blue Suede News, and the Seattle Weekly. He was the chief consultant on The Howlin’ Wolf Story: The Secret History of Rock & Roll. He is the co-author of Moanin’ at Midnight: The Life and Times of Howlin’ Wolf, which was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2008 as a “classic in blues literature.” He lives on Bainbridge Island.

Jim Basnight has spent the last 8 years co-researching a biography and documentary film of the life story and musical legacy of blues master “Sonny Boy Williamson” (Alex “Rice” Miller 1913-65). Subjects

BIMA is located in the Island Gateway complex which has accessible parking spaces on Ravine Lane. There is a flat surface entering the courtyard, which leads into the museum. Parking is also available in the underground garage. Take the elevator to First Floor Rear (1R) during museum hours for access through the Community Gallery to the Auditorium, Bistro and Museum.
All of the Museum is accessible by ramps and elevators. If someone in your party needs a wheelchair to enjoy the museum, please ask to borrow a loaner one at the reception desk.View less
