Discover the Naval History of Puget Sound, use topo maps, play navigation games, have fun creating art, and hands-on science experiments with outdoor learning.
Discover the Naval History of the region, ship building and navigation skills games, examine photos of artillery artifacts, and create a watercolor landscape of the Salish Sea. Young student archeologists will dig in the Vashon Till, trigger a slip-fault, identify potential landslide areas, and take the Topography Map Challenge. Hands on outdoor learning, science experiments, NCSS science standards. Bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and a rain jacket. Be prepared for a full day of outdoor learning on land and having fun with Art on a local beach! This event will be held at Fort Ward Park. Meet at the SE trail access and parking lot off of Fort Ward Hill Drive NE.
