Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” presented on video at the Bainbridge Island Senior Center

An outstanding production of this popular opera by the Teatro Real of Madrid, presented on the Center’s excellent audio-visual system, with English subtitles.

Gioachino Rossini’s The Barber of Seville is an Italian comic opera based on a French play, set in Spain. so it seems quite appropriate to show this spectacular production by Teatro Real of Madrid. Starring Maria Bayo as Rosina, Juan Diego Flores as Count Almaviva, and Pietro Spagnoli as the wily barber himself: the famous Figaro.
There will be a short introduction by the opera series host, Paul Brians.
