The Annual Bainbridge Island Historical Museum’s gala event: Turn Back Time! Each year, a decade is selected in which this annual fundraising gala centers around the history of that decade.
Known as the countercultural decade in the United States and other Western countries, the 60s featured a revolution in social norms: clothing, music, drugs, dress, sexuality, formalities, civil rights, precepts of military duty, and schooling. A wide range of music emerged; from popular music inspired by and including the Beatles, the folk music revival, to the poetic lyrics of Bob Dylan. The Sixties were also called the "cultural decade."
