Build a classic Adirondack chair from local cedar wood and customize it by embellishing the center back slat with a design carved on a computer-controlled router.
Learn to use band saws, miter (chop) saws, routers, sanders and drills as you build a classic Adirondack chair. Proper tool usage and safety will be practiced and reviewed. You will start out with a stack of cedar boards and take home your own Adirondack chair at the end of the week.
For the custom carving on the center back slat, you can opt to carve your initials or use a design that's in vector format. You can choose a ready-made design or create your own outside of class; there won't be time within the class for this.
Class open to youth ages 13 to 18.
