Learn the essentials of food photography in this fun hands-on workshop at BARN. Make the photos pop with light. And work with styling props. Find out how to make the pictures so real you can almost taste them.
When the food on your plate looks delicious, but your photo of it looks less than appetizing, you need to learn the essentials of food photography. We will explore the secrets to make the photos pop with light, and work with styling props to arrange the scene for the best pictures possible. We’ll discuss the right camera gear, setting, light, and workflow – and find out how to make the pictures so real you can almost taste them.
In class, we will photograph four plates: a hot entrée, a pasta dish, a salad, and of course dessert! Teams will work together to creatively “plate” one dish, then everyone will have the chance to photograph the finished arrangements. Students can bring their own props if they wish, such as colorful tea towels, or small dishes (please label your items with masking tape).
Whether you are a seasoned photographer, or a novice looking to expand your skillset, this fun and tasty workshop will step up your picture-taking skills.
